Nrtta is that Sadhana through which the sadhaka (aspirant) rediscovers the rhythmic life currents hidden in the body’s folds and limbs by means of unimposed natural positioning. This workshop will introduce the first form of Nrtta Sadhana – Ashta Matrikas (the eight mother palms).

Emma Balnaves is the director and teacher of Shadow Yoga and Nrtta Sādhanā and has been teaching yoga for over two decades. Emma has had prior training in classical ballet and Shaolin Martial Arts. Her formal education includes a Bachelor of Arts in Design, a Diploma in Marma Shastra and five years of part-time Ayurvedic studies in Kerala, India. Emma has been travelling and teaching yoga internationally since 1998.
